School is in full swing!

Classes at South have officially started and so has Greek life, which is why my blogging has been post-poned for weeks...
A couple weeks ago I made the formal decision to pledge a sorority. while I am not yet an official member of this sorority I still believe I have made the best decision I could have ever made by going Greek. I became a pledge of Alpha Omicron Pi, also known as AOII, last Sunday but won't be initiated until October. My big sister in the sororities name is Heather and we are the same height, both have blonde hair and when we look at pictures from behind we can't tell each other apart!
Since school has started I have been busy with many loads of homework and studying, but also hanging at the frat houses to help with their rush week! I have met a TON of new people and consider SOUTH to now be my home for the time being...
I came home this weekend and have spent every waking moment doing homework for this coming week but love seeing my family and birmingham friends that I have not seen in a month...
I'll be coming home again in two weeks and bringing friends with me this time to show them my small town USA as compared to where they are from!! I cannot wait for them to see where i come from.

RUSH

"You start with FIVE sororities and one sister and when the week is over you have a lot of new sisters, millions of new friends, and ONE place to call home" -- This is my famous quote of the week because I think it perfectly describes what I am going through at this time.

Rush has been an absolute blast this past weekend and we still have tonight, tomorrow and then bid day! I absolutely cannot wait to find out which sorority I will decide to pledge but ALL are amazing!

The first night was ice water teas which I really enjoyed except that by the end I felt hoarse and was very exhausted. That night we went and ate with some of my Pi Chi girls and some leaders! Second Night was Philanthropy night and I loved doing all the arts and crafts and hearing about where the gifts will go when we finished... Community Service is dear to my heart so I love doing things like that. Tonight I am totally excited to find out my three remaining sororities and see their Theme night presentations.

I have made many new friends since I have been here but two inparticular I have hung out with like every night after Rush and just got back from the beach with one of them.  I already feel like one could be my best friend forever!!   One girls name is Emily and she's awesome! The other ones name is Taylor and we've already said we are going to move in a sorority house if we pledge the same and be roomies.. we learned today at the beach that we have 3 classes together and we are oh SO excited to know someone in those classes!

Move-In Day has Arrived!!

Yesterday's packing never would have gotten finished in the small amount of time had it not been for a good friend, Anna. She and I go way back to the first day of Kindergarden till now! She helped me load the car and remember what I could have forgotten so thank-you anna!! Below is Anna and I before saying our good-byes!
Today I officially moved my home four hours away!! It has been an exciting but nerve racking day. After many hours of driving we arrived and it literally took all day for us to unload and arrange my room. I still have some boxes to unload tomorrow. My dad and brother left for their hotel around 8 tonight and I sat here thinking of what I could do. Luckily there was another girl that is rushing that was in the same boat so we decided to come to my room and watch a movie! So friend numbero uno has been made! YAY :) it's not going to be as lonely as i thought!

This is a picture of my "kitchen" area as i call it!
My bedspread with auburn accent because I'll always be an Auburn Tiger at heart! War Damn Eagle!!

I painted these initials to hang on the wall and the t.v. was bought with graduation money and put on the T.V. stand that I labored to put together today!

Overall it's been a tough but GREAT day!! I'll keep ya'll posted! LOVE you all!!

Packing for a new beginning!

Moving day is FAST approaching!  The packing process began today and will have to be done in a matter of  "two" days since I move on Thursday...ahh!! (It's a short amount of time to pack everything into two small cars) It's a bittersweet good-bye because I don't want to leave family and friends; however,  it's time to start a new chapter of life in order to achieve my dreams. As many of you know I am moving early because of sorority recruitment. RUSH starts on Friday and ends with Bid-day on Wednesday! I cannot wait to meet all the girls and get my college experience started! I will update this blog as I feel lead to update everyone on my personal college experience so hopefully, Thursday will not be too packed and I can upload pictures from move-in and my new room! Hope all is well with everyone!! LOVE ya'll!!
